
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be without Benjmain Fredrick with less than a month to the commencement of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The 20-year-old central defender has been instrumental for Eric Chelle since he made his debut for Nigeria at the Unity in June.
The Brentford FC defender has started in Super Eagles’ last six games – a testament to his importance to Eric Chelle’s team.
Unfortunately, Benjamin Fredrick will not make his debut at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month after sustaining an injury.
BBC Africa journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji, shared the news on his X page on Tuesday, November 25.
Fredrick sustained a knee injury in training and will be out of action until the new year, after the end of the tournament in January.
The former youth international got injured while training with FCV Dender EH on his return from international duty with Nigeria, as the country missed out on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
Benjamin Fredrick is a product of the academy of Super Eagles winger Moses Simon, and he is currently on loan at Belgian Jupiler League side FCV Dender EH from Brentford FC in the Premier League.
