Afconq2021: These are the 5 most outstanding Super Eagles players in Europe this season

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Squirrels of Benin Republic and the Crocodiles of Lesotho on March 27 and 30 respectively.

Here Toju Sote takes runs a rule over the five national team players who have been most outstanding for their clubs in Europe.

1) KELECHI IHEANACHO (Leicester City, England):  Kelechi is on a roll at the moment. His hattrick in Leicester City’s 5-0 pummelling of Sheffield United already puts him in the history books as only the fourth Nigerian to score three goals in a Premier League match.
He followed that with a brace in the 3-1 win that knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup, breaking Didier Drogba’s record as the African player with most goals in the FA Cup with 13 goals. He is also the only other player apart from Aguero in England to score 20 or more goals across two domestic Cup competitions.
He has now scored nine goals in his last nine games in all competitions. He has six goals in 16 Premier League games (eight substitute appearances) and 12 goals in 28 games in all competitions this season. He has no assist and no yellow card.

Onuachu was initially placed on standby by manager Gernot Rohr but was ramped up to replace Moses Simon who had Covid-19 travel restrictions from France.

3) WILFRED NDIDI (Leicester City, England):
Ndidi has been fantastic in the midfield for Leicester City all season. The player who is known for his defensive prowess and long range strikes had an abductor injury in September 2020 and returned to action in December.
He scored his first League goal in January against Chelsea in a 2-0 win.
He has three assists this season with 950 passes, 826 passes with an 87% pass completion rate.

5) HENRY ONYEKURU (Galatasaray, Turkey):

Onyekuru has made 10 appearances for Gala in the Super Lig (Turkish League) this season and has five goals to his name.
