Ahmed Musa happy as Super Eagles players test negative for Coronavirus ahead of Sierra Leone clash
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the players as well as the whole team invited for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have tested negative for the deadly Coronavirus.
This was confirmed through a statement by the NFF which said, “Nigeria’s Super Eagles are physically, mentally, psychologically and medically fit for Friday’s AFCON qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone. COVID-19 tests conducted on every player and official of the team returned negative on Thursday evening, further lifting the spirit of the three-time African champions ahead of the Day 3 of the 2021 AFCON qualification series.”
Team Captain Ahmed Musa as delighted with the news and said, “This is great news. Now, let us go out there on Friday and get the three points.”
The Coronavirus test result was also announced on the official Super Eagles Twitter account.
