Ahmed Musa Scores As Kano Pillars Escape Defeat To Heartland

Ahmed Musa was on the scoresheet again as Kano Pillars escaped defeat to Heartland on matchday 12 of the Nigeria Premier Football League in Kano.

The Super Eagles veteran scored his 5th goal of the season as he rescued Kano Pillars from defeat to Emmanuel Amunike’s Heartland.

The home side dominated the first half as they tried to breach the defense line of the visitors on two occasions.

CHAN Eagles striker Zulkifilu Muhammad forced Ebuka Nwokocha to a save on the 8th minute as he attempted to give the home side an early lead.

The first half ended barren with Kano Pillars having 2 shots on target while the vistors had none.

However, Heartland took a surprise lead 6 minutes after the restart. Surajudeen Lawal scored against the run of play to give the Nazi Millionaires the advantage.

However, the lead only lasted for the same number of minute as NPFL veteran Rabiu Ali scored from a brilliant freekick to restore parity.

While Kano Pillars tried to get the winner Surajudeen Lawal struck again to put Heartland back into the lead.

With fifteen minutes to regulation time, Zulkifilu Muhammad’s flicked a header towards Ahmed Musa and the veteran headed the ball into the net to draw Kano Pillars level.

The pulsating encounter at the newly-layed Sani Abacha Stadium pitch ended 2-2 as both sides shared the spoils.

Ahmed Musa has now scored 5 goals in 7 matches for Kano Pillars on his third stint with his boyhood club.

Kano Pillars are 6th on the log with 18 points after 12 matches while Remo Stars remain on the summit with 23 points despite playing a goalless draw at home to Finidi George’s Rivers United.
