Many still believed that this bout announced Anthony Joshua to the world even though the Britsh-Nigerian had earlier won a Gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, Silver at the 2011 World Championship in Baku among  other domestic titles.

Having defeated  Dillian Whyte , Charles Martin as he claimed his first World Heavyweight title (IBF) and Eric Molina en route to the bout, some believed that taking on Vlamdmir Klitschko who at the time held the IBO title might be a wrong move for Anthony Joshua.

However, in front of a 90,000 crowd at Wembley stadium, Anthony Joshua became the Unified World Heavyweight Champion for the first time as he claimed the WBA (Super) and IBO tities.
