Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare says Genk gained a point rather than a loss in the one-all draw against Royal Antwerp on Wednesday night.
Arokodare equalized for the visitors in the 71st minute with a thumping header to give Genk a point on the road as the race for the Belgian title continues.
Tolu Arokodare added that his focus is on winning games, not the league table, and he hopes his team puts up a better performance in the reverse fixture on Sunday.
I see it as a point gain. We didn’t lose the game. So I don’t see a loss, I just see that we gained a point. “It was a good challenge and an interesting games for the fans, hopefully it would be a better result for us on Sunday. “I am not focused on the league table, I am focused on winning every game. We haven’t lost any confidence, we are focused on winning every game and we’re trying to win every game.
The result against Antwerp put Genk in second place in the playoff standings, just one point behind defending champion Club Brugge.
However, the point could widen to four if Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge secures three points tonight against Union Saint-Gilloise.
Meanwhile, Arokodare is enjoying a brilliant individual outing with Genk this season. The 24-year-old striker has 20 league goals in 35 matches.
