Barcelona put aside their disappointing goalless draw against Sevilla behind them as they earned maximum points against a resolute Atletico Bilbao side.

Ivan Rakitic 71st minute scrabbled goal gave the Catalan giants all three points as they returned to the summit of the league with seven matches to go.

Barcelona are on 68 points at the moment but should Real Madrid win tomorrow, they will return to the top of the league although tied on point.

It remains to be seen how the title race will go with both teams now on each others neck at the moment.

Real Madrid take on Real Mallorca tomorrow in what is expected to be an easy win for Zineden Zidane’s side who have been on form since the restart of the league.
