Belgium stops Ronaldo from breaking Ali Daei’s record as Portugal crashes out of Euro2020!

Cristiano Ronaldo will have to wait a little while before smashing Iran’s Ali Daei’s record of most international goals after Belgium edge out Portugal in a 1-0 win.

The Juventus star man has already equaled the 109 international goals set by the Iranian after he bagged a brace against World Champions, France in a 2-2 draw.

Thorgan Hazard’s thunderous strike from range just before half-time made the difference on the might as Roberto Martinez’s side progressed to the quarter-finals.

Despite Portugal’s wave of attacks in the second half, the Belgian held onto their lead despite losing influential midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne to injury.

The Red Devils will now take on tournament “underdogs” Italy at the Allianz Arena on Friday for a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

On the flip side, Ronaldo remains the top scorer of the competition with 5 goals.
