Blast from the past: Some notable previous winners of the AMVCA from 2013 to date!

The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) is a yearly accolade hosted by Pay TV Broadcast giants: Multichoice.

Since its inception in 2013, the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards celebrated exellence and outstanding performance in television and film production in Africa.

The first Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards was held on the 9th of March in Lagos at the Exhibition center of the Eko Hotels and Suites and was shown in over 50 countries.

Here are some notable recipients of the awards since inception in 2013 :

• Best Actress in a Drama – Jackie Appiah (The Perfect Picture) -2013
• Best Actress in a Comedy – Mercy Johnson (Dumebi the Dirty Girl) -2013
• Best Actor in a Drama- OC Ukeje (Two Brides and a Baby) – 2013
• Best Actor in a Comedy – Hafiz Oyetoro (House a Part) – 2013
• Best Local Movie (Yoruba) – Tunde Kelani (Maami) 2013

• Best Actress in a Drama – Nse Ekpe Etim (Journey to Self) 2014
• Best Actor in a Comedy – Osita Iheme (The Hero) 2014
• New Era Award –  Rita Dominic (The Meeting) 2014

• Best Actress in a Drama – Adesua Etomi (Falling)
• Best Actor in a Comedy – Folarin Falana (Falz) Jennifer’s Diary
• Industry Merit Award – Bulky Ajayi and Sadiq  Dabba
