OTD in 2007, Brazil beat Messi’s Argentina 3-0 to win Copa America (video)

On July 15th, 2007 Brazil beat Lionel Messi’s Argentina to win the Copa America.

Any clash between Brazil and Argentina is war as both countries are in competition for supremacy on the South American continent.

Brazil started the game well and went in front as early as the fourth minute through Julio Baptista.

An own goal by Roberto Ayala in the 40th minute gave Brazil a two-goal advantage going into the break.

Dani Alves would seal the win for Brazil with their third in the 69th minute as they were crowned champions in front of 40,000 fans in attendance at the Estadio José Pachencho Romero, Maracaibo.
