English Premier side Arsenal have finally announced the signing of talented English midfielder Declan Rice from Westham after weeks of disagreement over the fee structure of the player.
Arsenal announced that the player has officially joined the club in a video posted on the official Twitter page of the club with the Afrobeat hit track of Odumodublvck “Declan Rice” playing in the background.
Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu otherwise known as OdumoduBlvck is a fast rising Nigerian rapper who titled his 2023 hit track “Declan Rice” which has now gotten massive airplays home and abroad.
The rapper shortly after releasing the track met with Declan Rice in London while he was still a Westham player as they performed the track together.
Arsenal’s Sporting Director Edu said: “Declan is a player with fantastic ability and a proven record at both club and international levels. The process of this transfer has been a big team effort with a clear plan, and we are so happy that Declan is joining us. “Declan is a high-quality, young international player who will add great strength to our squad, fitting so well into our strategy of competing with young talented players at the centre of our club.”It’s great that Declan will be joining up with Mikel, our coaches and his new teammates in good time ahead of the new season.”
Manager Mikel Arteta added: “We’re really happy that Declan is joining us. He is a player with tremendous ability, who has been performing at a high level in the Premier League and for England for a number of seasons now. Declan is bringing undoubted quality to the club and he is an exceptional talent who has the potential to be very successful here.“
Declan Rice joins Arsenal on club record deal for £100m plus £5m in add-ons. The 24-year-old also becomes the most expensive English player in the history of the game. Rice will wear jersey number 41 after signing a five-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.
