Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria has emerged the winner of the People’s Democratic Party’s primary election.
Atiku scored 371 votes (from delegates) to emerge as the flag bearer of the party ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
River States governor, Nyesom Wike scored 237 votes while former Senate President, Bukola Saraki had only 70 votes.
The PDP primaries, which took place at the indoor sports hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, saw a dramatic turn of event as Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal steeped down in support of Atiku.
