Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has deleted all the pictures he took and the videos he recorded in the shirts of Napoli from his Instagram page in reaction the viral videos that ridiculed him after he missed a second half penalty on Sunday away at Bologna.
The videos which have now drawn a lot of attention online were posted on the official TikTok page of Napoli on Monday. One of the videos ridiculed Osimhen as he was labelled “Coconut head” while the other made a mockery of his agitation to take the penalty.
Osimhen, in response to the videos which have now been removed from the TikTok page of Napoli, deleted all the pictures and videos of him in Napoli jerseys and shirts from his Instagram page on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda, issued a statement that his client is strongly considering legal action against Napoli. He described the videos as “unacceptable” and he highlighted that such videos can do a lot of damage to the player.
Napoli are yet to put out any statement on the matter as of the time of publishing this report.
The Nigerian striker led Napoli to a historic Serie a title last season for the first time in 33 years. Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 appearances as he won the much-coveted Capocannoniere award.
Napoli are in action tonight as they play host to Udinese in the Serie A.
