Super Eagles versatile defender, Calvin Bassey has completed a move to Dutch Eredivisie champions, Ajax Amsterdam.
The 22-year-old defender sealed a move to Ajax for a fee in the region of €22m which includes a sell-on clause according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Calvin Bassey joined Rangers in the 2020/2021 season from Leicester City as a free agent and made 46 appearances for the club with 3 assists to his name.
During his time at Rangers, Calvin Bassey won the Scottish Premier League (2020-2021) and the Scottish Cup the following year. He was also named in the UEFA Europa League team of the year for the 2021-2022 season.
Bassey became a target for top clubs in Europe after his impressive performances for Rangers in the league and en route to the Europa League final last season.
He becomes the fourth player to join the club after the arrival of Francisco Conceicao, Brian Brobbey, Steven Berjwijn and Owen Wijndal.
He is set to undergo a medical in the days ahead before his official unveiling as an Ajax player.
