Breaking! Super Eagles thrash Sao Tome and Principe 10 nil in biggest win ever

The Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded their biggest win ever as they annihilated Sao Tome and Principe 10 nil in Agadir on Monday afternoon.

Victor Osimhen continued his goal-scoring streak for the Super Eagles as he opened the floodgates of goals as early as the ninth minute via a thumping header from Moses Simon’s cross.

Osimhen returned the favour to Moses Simon who captained the team on the day in the 28th minute as the Nantes winger dragged the ball into an empty net.

Lorient’s winger, Tarem Moffi got on the scoresheet to make it 3 nil before half-time as he fired a low drive shot from the box after he was played through by Victor Osimhen.

Jose Peseiro’s men started from where they stopped in the first half as they continued to torment the defense line of the island nation.

Osimhen, got his brace via another header but this time from Ademola Lookma’s cross three minutes after restart.

Oghenekaro Etebo added more misery to Sao Tome and Principe woes as he curled in a beautiful free-kick from the edge of the box to make it 5 nil.

Tarem Moffi secured his brace from a beautiful team work display while Ademola Lookman capitalised on a loose ball to make it 7 nil in favour of the Super Eagles.

Osimhen, after being caught offside more than thrice in the game, finally got his hattrick and went on to score his fourth to make it 9 nil.

Watford FC striker, Emmanuel Dennis, who came off the banch, scored for the first time for the Super Eagles after he won and converted his spot-kick late in the game.

The victory against Sao Tome and Principe is the biggest ever in the history of the country since 1959.

Jose Peseiro’s men now lead group A of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with six points and abundance of goals.

The victory also validates the fact that there are still minnows in football.
