Afrobeat superstar, Damini Ogulu who is known by his stage name, “Burna Boy” has set a new record ahead of the 63rd anniversary of the prestigious Grammy Awards.
Having earned the accolade as the fisrt Nigerian Artist to earn back to back Grammy Awards nominations in 2019 and 2020 respectively, Burna Boy has set a new record.
Burna Boy is set to become the first Nigerian Artist and Afrobeat Act to perform at the Grammy Awards Premiere ceremony which will take place on Sunday 14th, March 2021.
The self-acclaimed “African Giant” will perform along with side Grammy Awards nominees like Igor Levit, Poppy, Rufus Wainwright among others.
The ceremony will be streamed live on the Grammy Awards website at 12 noon ET. (US time)
Burna Boy will look to win the Grammy Award this time the best album in the World Music category having lost multi-Grammy Awards winner, the legendary Angelique Kidjo in the 2019 edition.
The main award ceremony will hold on the 15th of March at the Staples Center in California.
