Confederation of African Football (CAF) have celebrated Senegal coach, Aliou Cisse after the Teranga Lions beat Qatar at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Senegal defeated hosts Qatar 3-1 on November 25 at the Al Thumama Stadium.

Boulaye Dia scored first for the African champions in the 41st minute after some sloppy defending by Qatar.

Famara Diedhou doubled the Teranga Lions lead in the 48th minute and Mohammed Muntari pulled one back for the Qatari team in the 78th minute powering a header into the net.

However Bamba Dieng sealed the win for Senegal six minutes later with a well taken strike.

With the win Cisse became the first African coach to win two FIFA World Cup games.

Cisse was the coach of the Teranga Lions of Senegal when they defeated Poland 2-1 at Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Caf celebrated Cisse’s achievement on their Twitter handle.

“Aliou Cisse=LEGEND The first ever African manager to win 2 #FIFA World Cup games,” they Tweeted.

Senegal play Ecuador in their third Group A match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Tuesday, November 29 at the Khalifa International Stadium.

The Teranga Lions are currently third in Group A with three points and the Maroon of Qatar have no point.

The Netherlands and Ecuador have four points each
