Ghanaian president, Nana Akufo-Addo has saluted the Black Stars of Ghana following their win over South Korea at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2 on Monday, November 28 at the Education City Stadium.
Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus scored a goal each in the first half to give Ghana a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Cho Gue-sung scored a brace to equalise for the South Koreans as they attempted to snatch all three points.
However, Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Mohammed Kudus scored again in the 68th minute to give Ghana the victory.
Akufo-Addo took to Twitter to cheer the Ghanaian squad after the victory.
“Kudos to the Black Stars. Hard fought but thoroughly well-deserved victory against South Korea. Proud of the entire team and the un-alloyed support given to them by all Ghanaians. Now to the final group stage game against Uruguay,” he Tweeted.
Ghana have three points after two games in Group H.
The Black Stars will play Uruguay in their final Group game on Friday December 2 at the Al Janoub Stadium.
