Court sentences man to death by hanging in Jigawa for killing his uncle

On Friday, a Jigawa State High Court in Hadejia convicted Magaji Husseini Lushe to death by hanging for the murder of his uncle.

Magaji Husseini Lushe of Rigar Didi Lamido village in KiriKaksamma Local Government Area was charged before the court for killing his uncle Muhammad Alhaji Amadu with a knife, according to Presiding Judge Justice Ado Yusuf Birnin kudu.

He claimed the defendant confessed to the court that he committed the crime while under the influence of heavy drugs.

The offence, according to Justice Ado Yusuf, was in violation of section 221 of the Penal Code statute of 2014 as modified.

As a result, he was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging.

Meanwhile, in Hadejia, Justice Ado Yusuf sentenced Sa’idu Zakar Hadejia to life in prison for raping an eleven-year-old girl.

In addition to the prosecution witness, the convict confessed to having committed the crime during his trial.

Justice Ado Yusuf, who delivered the judgment, stated that the court was convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that Sa’idu Zakar committed the crime, which is punishable under section 283 of the Penal Code of 2014, as amended.

As a result, he sentenced him to be hanged
