Nigerian music superstars David ‘Davido’ Adeleke and Tiwa Savage were among the top African athletes and musicians to be honored at the 2022 CAF Awards, bringing glitz and glamour to the continental event.
On Thursday night, the duo joined eminent sports personalities and dignitaries in Rabat, Morocco, for the 2022 edition of the major African sporting event.
Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha was also present at the awards ceremony.
While Davido and Emmanuel Adebayor presented the ‘Young Female Footballer of the Year’ award to Ghana’s Evelyn Badu, Okocha presented the ‘Goal of the Year’ award to Senegal’s Papa Ousma Sacho.
Tiwa Savage performed alongside other performers to delight guests at the awards. She sang two of her biggest hits, ‘Koroba’ and ‘All Over.’
Morocco’s star artiste Asmaa Lamnawar and Cote d’Ivoire supergroup Magic System performed alongside the singer.
The performers made certain that there was magic in the air as they provided entertainment in Rabat to honor the crème de la crème of African football.
The much-anticipated red carpet event at the incredible Mohammed VI Technical Centre brought together all 13 nominees.
Football royalty, including football’s leadership and CAF legends, as well as personalities from across the African continent, were also in attendance.
The glittering show, which took place in the North African country, was fit for Africa’s football royalty and was broadcast live across 44 African countries.
