The Super Falcons’ tournament campaign ended in defeat, similar to their opening group loss to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.

Nigeria was expected to win the WAFCON 2022 with a star-studded squad, but a 2-1 loss to South Africa and a 4-5 penalty shootout loss to host Morocco ended the Super Falcons’ La Decima dream.

They had decided to settle for a bronze medal, but were denied once more by the Zambian team, which appeared to be more committed to winning.

The loss to Zambia means the Super Falcons have now loss three games in a single tournament for the first time in the history of the competition.
