Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been voted the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week award announced on Friday, February 28th.
De Bruyne was the Man of the Match in the biggest game of the week which saw Premier League champions Manchester City defeat Spanish giants Real Madrid away from home.
De Bruyne provided the equaliser for Gabriel Jesus and eventually scored the winner from the penalty spot to give Manchester City a massive first leg advantage.
De Bruyne beat Serge Gnabry who scored two goals for Bayern Munich against Chelsea, Barcelona midfield enforcer against Napoli Sergio Busquets and Houssem Aouar who created Lyon’s only goal in their victory against Juventus.
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland won thee award for the Best goal of the Last 16 first legs.
Haaland scored both goals for Dortmund as they beat Paris Saint Germain.
