Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has revealed that he has no intention of inviting Crotone’s Simy Nwankwo to the Super Eagles despite how prolific the 6ft striker has been this season.
Rohr, who said he has been following the progress of the striker in the Serie A added that he needs to play for a bigger side in Europe to stand a chance of playing in the Super Eagles.
“As I said before, I have never stopped following his performances, but I believe next year, he must go and play in a club and a team stronger than Crotone”
“It will not be equally easy but he would already have a better chance of returning to the national team,” Gernot Rohr told Europa Calcio.
Simy Nwankwo currently has 19 goals in 33 appearances this season – the most by a Nigerian in Europe’s top five leagues. He also holds the record of the most Serie A goals in a season by a Nigerian.
