Dosu Joseph Optimistic Flying Eagles Will Defeat Egypt
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph isoptimistic that the Flying Eagles will defeat Egypt in their second game at the 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON)
The Young Lions of Senegal defeated the Flying Eagles 1-0 in their first game of the tournament on Sunday February 19 at the Cairo International Stadium.
Souleymane Faye scored the lone goal of the game in the 40th minute.
Dosu urged the players to bounce back to winning ways against the Egyptians.
“It’s sad that the Flying Eagles failed to kickstart the competition with a win against Senegal despite the odds favouring them to win,” Dosu said
“Well that is the game of football because you can’t win every game. Yes I was disappointed that the team lost, however I am optimistic that they can still bounce back to winning ways against Egypt.
“The players must shift focus now to Egypt game if they make to the knockout stages of the competition.”
The Young Lions of Senegal are first place in Group A with three points after one game while the Flying Eagles are last in the Group with zero points.
Up next for the Flying Eagles is a game with Egypt on Wednesday February 22 at at the Cairo international Stadium.
