DTigress quest to win a third consecutive Women’s Afrobasket championship has been achieved after a impressive victory over Mali in the final.

DTigress edged the Malians by 11 points as they secure their fifth title and and third under coach Otis Hughley.

Center, Victoria Macaulay stole the show on the night as she recorded 15 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assists while 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

Mariam Coulibaly, one of the best players in the tournament had 13 points and 9 rebounds.

The Malian ladies gave a good account of themselves as they outscored DTigress in two quarters – the second and the last as they looked to but cut down the double digits lead.

DTigress are now unbeaten in 19 games and have now qualified for one of the FIBA qualifying tournaments ahead of the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
