Edo Queens Off To A Brilliant Start At CAF Women’s Champions League

Edo Queens football club are off to a brilliant start at the 2024 edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.

The Nigerian champions marked their debut in the competition with an impressive win over Ethiopian team CBE FC.

The debutants were more than a handful for CBE as they outclassed them from start to finish in the Group B fixture which was played on Sunday evening.

A first half goal from from Emem Essien and a goal each form from Super Falcons striker Folashade Ijamilusi and Chukwuamaka Osigwe gave Edo Queens the 3-0 win

Edo Queens now sit comfortably at the top of Group B with 3 points and a clean sheet while Masar FC are second with 3 points but with a lesser goal difference.

The Moroccan side defeated defending champions Mamelodi Sundows 1-0 in what can only be described as a shock loss.

Edo Queens will take on Masar on Wednesday as they look to make it two wins out of two which will see them progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

The Nigeria Women’s Football League champions are being coached by Moses Adaku who led them to their first-ever league title last season.
