Former Scotland international, Matt Elliot has lauded Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho following his winning goal in Leicester City’s FA Cup tie with Gillingham.
The Foxes pipped Gillingham 1-0 at Priestfield Stadium today January 7 in the FA Cup third round.
Iheanacho scored the lone goal of the game in the 56th minute.
Speaking on LCFC Radio’s commentary he praised Iheanacho’s display in the second 45 half.
“In the second half, by some distance Kelechi Iheanacho has been the classiest performer out there,” Elliot said.
“Youri Tielemans and Marc Albrighton led by example as well. A mention has to go to Lewis Brunt, who looked like he’d played there all season too.”
Iheanacho has scored one goal in one FA Cup match for Leicester City this season.
He has racked up two goals and one assist in 17 games across all club competitions this term.
