Emoni Rivers Boyd, who slapped her mother for clout, was tragically shot 16 times in an incident at the Newport Terrace Apartments on Bennett Court. She was discovered dead in a New Castle County apartment.
Neighbor Charles Hindsley, who lives in a building next to where Rivers-Boyd was shot with his two children, told Delaware Online/The News Journal in February that the group raced out of the building and fled after the shooting.
Emoni’s body was discovered shortly before 10 p.m. at the Newport Terrace Apartments, off West Justis Street in Newport, after responding to a 911 call about a shooting.
Who Shot Emoni Rivers Boyd?
Angelise Merced of Elsmere was accused of criminal manslaughter, having a gun while committing a crime, and having a gun in their possession while prohibited in relation to the death of Emoni Rivers-Boyd on February 15.
Merced was imprisoned at the New Castle Detention Center on a $130,000 cash bond. There hasn’t yet been any additional information made public.
