eNaira App deleted from Google Play Store due to deficiency in quality

The newly launched eNaira Wallet application has been discarded from Google Play Store less than 40 hours after its launch by the Central Bank of Nigeria, according to SaharaReporters.

The app has received series of complaints since its introduction to the cyber space, especially from Twitter users.

Nigerians have taken a recent statement by the financial regulatory body as a subtle means of avoiding accountability.

“We won’t be liable for stolen funds, dispense errors from Nigerians’ eNaira accounts”, CBN said.

Others think it is a needless innovation as it doesn’t really solve any problems.

“Every POS agent knows what is called eMoney. That is their digital float. Every bank customer who transacts digitally already knows that funds can be represented electronically. I am still at a loss on what eNaira is meant to solve other than helping the government print money.” Osaretin Victor Asemota, a Twitter user said.

However, the app is currently available on the Apple app store with 2.6 over 5 ratings.
