The English Football Association have placed Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, on a one-match suspension after accumulating multiple yellow cards.
Bright Osayi-Samuel picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in Birmingham City’s win away at Preston North End on Tuesday evening.
The right-back received his fifth yellow card in the victory early on in the game for pulling Preston striker Daniel Jebbison.
Osayi-Samuel, having been out of action for the past two weeks, featured for over 50 minutes before he was taken off to manage his minutes.
The former Fenerbache defender has been booked against Ipswich Town, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, and Swansea City.
Consequently, Bright Osayi-Samuel will miss Birmingham City’s trip to Bristol City this weekend in the English Championship.
The 27-year-old defender, if fit, will be in contention to return to the Super Eagles for the World Cup playoffs next month against Gabon and possibly Cameroon or DR Congo.
Osayi-Samuel missed the October window due to injury as the Super Eagles thrashed Benin Republic 4-0 to secure a place in the playoffs.
