Europa League: Iheanacho’s goal secures point for Celtic at FK Crvena Zvezda

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first European goal for Celtic. The Scottish champions secured a point in their Europa League opener away at FK Crvena Zvezda.

Iheanacho came on as a second-half substitute and made an impact, putting the visitors ahead after the first half ended goalless.

The Nigerian forward received a fine pass from Benjamin Nygren in the midst of two defenders and showed great composure before burying the ball beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, Iheanacho’s goal lasted only 11 minutes as Marko Arnautovic restored parity for the host with a brilliant goal.

The tie ended one-all as both sides settled for a draw on the opening night of the 2025/2026 Europa League.

Iheanacho has enjoyed a brilliant start to life since joining Celtic with two goals and an assist in three matches since he jined the club on a free transfer from Sevilla this summer.
