Flying Eagles Defeat Uganda To Secure U-20 AFCON Semis And World Cup Tickets
The Nigerian U-20 football team the Flying Eagles defeated Uganda 1-0 in the quarter-final of the U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
The Flying Eagles beat Uganda 1-0 on Thursday March 2 at the Suez Canal Stadium.
Ibrahim Juma’s own goal in the 30th minute gave Nigeria the win.
With the victory the Flying Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Flying Eagles will face the winners of the game between Gambia and South Sudan in the semi-final on March 7 at the Cairo international Stadium.
Having qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the thirteenth time, the Flying Eagles will take part in the 2023 edition set to be hosted by Indonesia from May 20 to June 11.
