The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have landed in Buenos Aires ahead of their third group game of the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup in Argentina. The Flying Eagles will play Brazil on Saturday, May 27 at the Estadio Unico Diego Armando Maradona.
The Nigerian team have already qualified for the round of 16 of the tournament after defeating Italy 2-0 on Wednesday, May 24 at the Estadio Malvinas. Salem Fago scored the first goal for Nigeria in the 61st minute and Jude Sunday made it 2-0 in the 95th minute to seal the first qualification spot.
Nigeria lead Group D with six points from two matches and Brazil are second with three points from the same number of games. The Flying Eagles have never won the U-20 World Cup but they were runners-up at Saudi ’89 and Holland 2005.
