The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will play South Korea in the quarter-final of the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup.
South Korea beat Ecuador in the round of 16 game on at Thursday, June 1 at the Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades to set up the quarter-final tie.
Lee scored the first goal of the game in the 11th minute and Bae made it 2-0 eight minutes later.
Cuerro converted a penalty for Ecuador in the 36th minute to make it 2-1.
SChoi’s finish in the 48th minute gave South Korea a two-goal cushion again before Gonzalo Bacquero scored for the Ecuadorians in the 84th minute.
The Flying Eagles defeated Argentina 2-0 on Wednesday at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario.
The quarter-final match will take place on June 4 at Santiago del Estero.
The Flying Eagles have never won the U-20 World Cup but they were runners-up at Saudi ’89 and Holland 2005.
