Former Golden Eaglets star shot by unknown gunmen

A former Golden Eaglets winger Sambo Choji was yesterday shot by suspected gunmen who are now at large. people

Choji, who was a part of the U-17 World Cup winning squad of 1993 in Japan, is now receiving treatment on the shot leg although details of the attack are still sketchy.

The former Plateau United of Jos star shot into limelight when he helped Nigeria to win a a second U-17 title alongside Kanu Nwankwo, Wilson Oruma, Celestine Babayaro among others under the tutelage of coach Fanny Amin.

Choji went on to play professionally in Germany with Saarbrucken and was also a member of the Flying Eagles team to the 1995 African Youth Championship hosted by Nigeria.
