French Open 2021: Novak Djokovic “The Comeback King” wins 19th Grand Slam title! Video

Beat the drums, roll the carpet! A new French Open has emerged and it is the man that needs to introduction, Novak Djokovic.

For the first time since 2017, the French Open has a new winner after Rafael Nadal won four consecutive titles.

The Serbian showed nothing but doggedness and resilience as he came from two sets down to claim a 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4  victory over Stephanos Tsitsipas who was playing in his first major final.

Djokovic came into the final with a staggering record of 34 wins and 10 losses in five-setters which includes a record 31 wins in grand slams while Tsitsipas has 5-4 in that range.

Tsitsipas only needed an hour and 40 minutes to take a two-set lead over the Serbian as he raised his hopes of dining his first grand slam high but the tenacious and rugged Djokovic broke the Greek star early in each of the last three sets in an energy-sapping five-setter.

Djokovic has now won 19 grand slam titles – one behind Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
