Super Falcons hold Portugal to a three-all draw in game 2 of US #Summerseries

The Super Falcons of Nigeria put on a quite commendable performance as they force their Portuguese counterpart to a thrilling 3-3 in Houston, Texas.

Randy Waldrum ladies in a spirited performance, came from two goals down to restore parity on the night and a stoppage-time goal by Rashidat Ajibade ensured the Falcons picked their first point of the tournament.

Portugal who narrowly lost 1-0 to host USA in their opening fixture took the lead in the 22nd minute courtesy of an own goal by Super Falcons defender, Chindinma Okeke.

Carole Costa doubled the lead of the Europeans before halftime as she took advantage of a ball that fell to her from a free-kick after she was left unmarked.

Debutant, Michelle Alozie halved the Portuguese lead just before the break as slot the ball calmly into the net from a Rita Chikwelu’s cross.

Another defensive error gave the Portuguese a 3-1 four minutes after the restart.

However, an own goal and a late goal by Rasheedat Ajibade earned the Super Falcons a point.

The Super Falcons will now take on USA who pummeled Jamaica 4-0 in their last match of the WNT series on Thursday.
