For the records, Isa Pantami is not the new President of Nigeria, the country’s general election is in 2023. He is a serving Minister in President Buhari’s cabinet.
He is in charge of the country’s Communications and Digital Economy but his name has refused to leave the headline since last week after documents revealed that he shares views in line with Terrorist organizations, Al Qaeda, and the Taliban.
Pantami has also been accused of being an Islamic extremist and also instigating violence against other religious groups after videos of his preachings in the early 2000s.
A Fresh document has now emerged on how Mr. Pantami and other Islamic leaders in a meeting allegedly plotted the death of Patrick Yakowa after expressing their grievances against the Governor.
The meeting organized by Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), a foremost Isla mic body led by Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar took place at the Bauchi Central Mosque on July 13, 2013, and was chaired by Isa Pantami.
Plans to frustrate Christian traders and civil servants, eliminate the Governor, his family were concluded according to the document.
“We must either use the security or other means to eliminate the governor, his family, and all those they perceive as supporting him,”
It is unclear whether the conclusion of the Islamic leaders led to the death of Patrick Yakowa and his security adviser, Owoeye Azazi who both died in a helicopter crash less than a year after he won the election in 2011. However, the document seems to be pointing towards that direction.
Patrick Yakowa was the first Christian Governor of Kaduna State.
