Galatasaray to lure Super Eagles midfielder from Relegated Premier League side with Champions League football

Super Eagles

Turkish football giant Galatasaray are in pole position to sin Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo this summer as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the next football season having qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

Joe Aribo’s Southampton got relegated from the English Premier League last season as they finished bottom of the league with 25 points after 38 matches and the midfielder is open to the option of playing in Europe again.

Signed from Glasgow Rangers with the hopes of replicating his stellar performances at the south coast, the 26-year-old midfielder did not exactly live up to expectations.

The Super Eagles midfielder had a torrid time with the Saints in the just-concluded season as he featured only 21 times in the league with 2 goals and zero assists. He was an unused sub in the final game of the just-concluded season as Southampton held Liverpool to a 4-4 draw at the Saint Mary’s Stadium.

Reports have that Galatasaray are proposing a loan move for Joe Aribo with the possibility of making the deal permanent next summer. If the deal goes through, Aribo will look to replicate his performances in Europe with Rangers at Galatasaray where he scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 42 games.
