Gift Orban Bags Hattrick In Gent’s Demolition of Pogoń Szczecin!

Nigerian striker Gift Orban didn’t misplace his goal-scoring boots during the summer holiday. The young striker was on target not just once but three times Gent thrashed Polish side Pogoń Szczecin 5 nil in the first leg of the first leg of the penultimate round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Gent started the game the better side and they made their intention of winning the game known early enough as Gift Orban opened the floodgates of goals as early as the 13th minute as he tap the ball into the net after Pogoń Szczecin’s goalkeeper Bartosz Klebaniuk spilled the ball towards his direction.

The homeside piled more pressure on the visitors after the goal and the pressure eventually made off and once again Gift Orban was in the right positiion in the 35th minute. The 20-year-old nodded a looping ball from Sven Kums over the advancing goalkeeper as Gent took a 2 nil lead with 10 minutes before half-time.

Orban completed his hattrick on the night in the 64th minute from a loose ball from the opposition defense and he was immediately put through on goal by South Korean midfielder Hyun-Seok Hong. The young striker used his pace and trickery to manoeuvre the defense before firing a low drive into the bottom right corner of the goalkeeper to make it 5 nil in favour of Gent.

Gift Orban has now scored 5 gaols in 3 appearances for Gent this season. Orban had a very impressive outing last season as he registered 20 goals in 22 appearances for Gent last season.
