Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilred Ndidi both scored as Leicester City beat Burton away from home to qualify for the second round of the 2023/2024 Carabao Cup season.
The Foxes secured a comfortable 2 nil win away from home in a one-sided affair at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday night.
Iheanacho scored Leicester City’s first goal on the night from a with a lovely back heel finish from Marc Albrighton’s cross six minutes after kick-off.
Enzo Maresca’s side, with a handful of Premier League proven players dominated the game for large spells as they looked to double their lead.
The sustained pressure paid off in fourth minute added time in the first half as Iheanacho squared the ball from the by-line to find Ndidi in space and the midfielder buried the ball to the top-right corner to double the lead of the former Premier League champions just before half-time.
The result earned the Foxes a place in the second round of the competition where they will take on Tranmere Rovers.
