English player of Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka was attacked verbally and racially abused after he missed one of England’s penalty kicks in the Euro2020 final loss against Italy Ay Wembley.
Some of the angry fans took to their social media pages to use monkey emojis and other racial slurs on him.
One of the comments which have now gone viral was from a fam who asked Bukayo Saka to back to Nigeria after his penalty miss.
Manchester United’s duo of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho who also missed their penalties against Italy also suffered racial abuses on social media.
However, the British Prime Minister and the English F.A have condemned both the offline and online attacks on black players and people of color following England’s loss at Wembley.
