Hattrick Hero! Ademola Lookman Shatters Bayer Leverkusen’s 51 Matches Unbeaten Run As Atalanta Win First European Title

Ademola Lookman put up a fantastic performance as he bagged a hattrick in the final of the 2023/2024 Europa League final.

The Nigerian forward was too much to handle for Bayer Leverkusen’s defense as he punished them with three beautiful unreplied goals which handed Atalanta their first European title.

Lookman gave Gian Piero Gasperini’s side the lead early in the game as he put the ball into the left corner from Davide Zappacosta’s square ball into the box.

Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen were still trying to settle into the game but Lookman hit them like a thunder for his second on the night.

The Super Eagles winger received the ball close to Leverkusen’s defensive area, beat his marker with a sublime skill before bending a right-footed strike into the bottom-left corner of Matej Kovar’s goal.

The 26-year-old sealed the victory for Atalanta with a hattrick in the second half from a solo run before powering a left-footed strike into the net from the box.

Ademola Lookman completed the historic night as he becomes the first player to score a hattrick in a single-leg Uefa Cup/Europa League final.

He also becomes the third Nigerian player to score in the Europa League final after Alex Iwobi (2019 Europa League) and Joe Aribo (2022 Europa League).

With a hattrick in the final of the Europa League, Ademola Lookman now has 23 goal involvement for Atalanta this season with two matches left to play in the Serie A.
