“He looks fed up sometimes” – Fabregas shares thought on Chelsea striker

By Kalu Onyemaechi

Ex-Blues Cesc Fabregas has recently expressed his opinion on the out-of-favour Chelsea striker Timo Werner.

The former Chelsea midfielder replied a Chelsea fan who asked for his thought of Timo Werner. The question was in response to Fabregas’ earlier tweet “Q&A to celebrate? Let’s go #AskCesc”.

“He makes so many good runs but sometimes they either don’t see him or don’t play the pass. Looks fed up sometimes”, said Fabregas [laughs].

Werner has failed to live up to the promise that got the Chelsea board interested enough to activate his £50 million release clause from RB Leipzig in 2020.

The 25-year-old forward achieved amazing feats in Leipzig where he scored a total goal of 95 and 40 assists.

The German speedster has featured in a total of 9 matches this season and scored two goals; one scored in the Premier League, and the other in the League Cup. A series of worrisome performances in his first season compelled the club’s management to scramble for a Romelu Lukaku return.

Chelsea fans still believe that he will come through for the club very soon and are willing to support him all the way.

Since joining Chelsea, “Turbo Timo”, as he is fondly called, has helped the Blues to win the 2020/2021 UEFA Champions League trophy and UEFA Super Cup.

His performance for his national team isn’t bad as he has already notched up five goals and one assist from eight matches in the 2021/2022 World Cup Qualifiers so far.
