The news of Flutterwave’s $170m investment deal is getting reactions since yesterday when it broke out and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has sent his congratulatory to the duo of Olugbenga Agboola and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji – owners of Flutterwave.
Governor Sanwo-Olu took to his official Twitter page to congratulate the duo as well as other members of the team for their “landmark achievement.” Governor Sanwo-Olu also lauded how the Flutterwave has been able to help Small and Medium Enterprises grow.
However, Lagosians, in reaction to the Governor’s comment have sent a series of reminders to him especially on how his administration placed a ban on Motorcycles, Tricycles as well as start-ups like Gokada, Maxride and ORide.
On the 27th of January, the Lagos State Government announced that it has placed a ban on Commercial Motorcycles and Tricycles in Apapa, Surulere, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Eti-Osa Local Government Areas of the State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s congratulatory message on Flutterwave’s achievement has generated a handful of reactions on social media with many severely criticising him.
