Big Brother Naija Reality Tv star, Mercy Eke has shared her “Grass to Grace” story. She said her fame wasn’t as a result of luck or chance but sheer hard work and consistency.
Mercy Eke made this revelation during the 8th edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NEC) held on Sunday.
She also revealed that she auditioned for the reality show four times before she was selected.
She said;
Sometimes it gets me very emotional to see how far I have come from where I started. From selling corn to fuel to a lot of things I did before this Mercy,” she said.
“I am proud of myself, and a lot of people are proud of me and looking up to me. Where I am today is through my hard work. I haven’t done anything yet, I still have so many big dreams to achieve.
“Being famous and having fans is a way two-way thing. You have to know how to balance them. I am not famous because I want to be famous, I am famous because I want to work on myself. Because I want to be somebody, and that is why I auditioned for big brother four times.
“Having fans is a give and take situation, you have to have something to give for you to receive. A lot of people want to be famous without having directions.”
Mercy Eke is now one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry after emerged winner of the fourth edition of the show.
