Iheanacho: I dedicate my hattrick to all mothers around the world.
Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho was in blistering form on Sunday, scoring three times as the Foxes battered basement team Sheffield United 5-0 at the King Power stadium.
The Super Eagles striker, in a post-match interview, promptly celebrated winning the matchball by dedicating the hattrick to all mothers around the world.
He said: “I dedicate this hattrick to all mothers around the world on the occasion of Mothers Day today. I thank them for taking care of us. I’m delighted to score the goals and also help my team move up in the table.”
Iheanacho also have words of praise for strike partner Jamie Vardy who was instrumental to the massive win with three assists even though he failed to register a goal.
“Jamie is a massive player. I pray he keeps playing until he’s 40 and beyond. He’s always creating space for me and playing with him is pure joy. He’s a team player. Even when he’s not scoring, he works hard for the team,” he added.
Iheanacho’s goals, his fourth in two games will be a source of worry for Nigeria’s opponents as the Super Eagles prepare for the AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho at the end of the month.
