Incredible! Benue man castrates himself “to serve God better”

A 40-year old former University of Ibadan medical school dropout, Mr Terhemen Anongo popularly called Doc K or Bob Korna has literally interpreted the biblical injunction to do away with any part of the body that could make a believer sin by reportedly castrating himself so he could serve God better.

According to a Facebook update by one Comrade Anyamhur David, the said Mr Terhemen who is an indigene of Tarka LGA but resident in Gboko said his manhood was the major stumbling block to the service of God as it has been distracting him ceaselessly.

In order to escape any further sexual distraction, Mr Terhemen decided to obey the book of Mathew 5:30 which enjoins believers thusly: “If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”

In the days leading to the act, Terhemen had been telling acquaintances that women were his stumbling block to the service of God and that he would remove his genitals to escape from this unquenchable sexual libido.

He reportedly consulted three clinics in Gboko to have himself castrated but he was turned down. However as a former medical student, he knew the process and decided to get all the surgical equipments and drugs ready for the operation to be carried out by himself.

On January 28, he got set for the operation and first administered to himself a local anaesthesia before using a surgical knife to cut the right
scrotum. He succeeded in removing the testicle inside and was trying to do justice to the left one before he was compelled to stop because of blood that was oozing and gushing out uncontrollably. In that condition, he trekked to Baki Clinic, Gboko where he was treated and discharged after staying in bed for four days.

Asked whether he would remove the remaining testicle when he finally recuperates, Terhemen was quick to say no.

“No, I won’t try it again”, and agreed that it was idiotic to give a literary interpretation to the bible passage.

Terhemen said he regretted his action and prayed to God for a wife so as to bear his own children.

Terhemen, a final year medical student of University of Ibadan before he dropped out of the programme in 2007 due to an alleged psychiatric condition has reportedly been battling mental health issues which made members of his family to abandon the Gboko GRA house of his father for him alone.

Without a job, Terhemen makes ends meet by pushing wheelbarrow reading the Bible and newspapers is a daily hobby.
