Prophetic John! Watch video of Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu last January predicting that Osimhen will break transfer record
In what has come out to be chillingly prescient, a video has emerged of Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu making a bold prediction that national teammate Victor Osimhen would break the transfer record for most expensive Nigerian player.
And, after completing a move to Italian Serie A giants Napoli during the week, that prophecy has come to pass.
Ogu was a guest of Mathew Edafe on ElegbeteTV and, when asked of his impression about his young international teammate, responded thusly:
“You want me to promise you something? Give me from now to four or five years, Osimhen will break the record for the highest transfer by a Nigerian player in Europe.”
Although Ogu predicted four to five years, Osimhen was able to fulfil the prophecy in just seven months.
His transfer broke the African record held by Arsenal’s Ivorien star Pepe.
