Liverpool are back at Anfield as the Reds play host to Bournemouth this afternoon after a difficult past few days for Jurgen Klopp’s men. The Reds have lost three of three last four games across competitions with the latest loss coming against Chelsea in the FA Cup in midweek.
The Reds saw their 44 matches unbeaten record shattered with 3-0 annihilation of by Watford last week thereby dashing their hopes of equalling Arsenal’s league record of 47 matches unbeaten run. Liverpool also failed to go past their 18 consecutive league wins due to that loss at Vicarage Road.
However, as the Reds look to get back to winning ways this afternoon against Bournemouth, a victory could see them achieve the most number of consecutive home wins in the league. Liverpool have won 21 consecutive league matches at Anfield and a win against Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth will see them have 22 consecutive home victories which will be the most in top-flight history.
Liverpool have won eight of their last ten meetings against Bournemouth and that gives them a huge advantage going into today’s early kick-off.
